My dad’s bible, Yerba buena, cake, hotel
I was at a hotel staying near my old workplace, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. There was a reunion happening there that I had traveled in for. My dad left this tiny Bible in the room. Kirsten was supposed to go to the reunion but I invited my dad out of politeness hoping he wouldn’t really come but he did. We walked into the reunion and I saw a few people. It was a fancy affair. Back at the hotel they were serving tons of different cake all over. The food was not very good or healthy but I watched a chef make spanakopita with an elaborate spread of ingredients. In another dream I drove a shuttle bus around the city and took a slight wrong turn and ended up driving to the capitol. I had to stop at this station where they handed me something with my picture to clip to the license plate to get into the capitol but I told them I took a wrong turn and the lady helped me get out of the lane I was in. It was “FDR day.” Another dream I was taking care of patients in a park but I broke away to go play a guitar on a busy sidewalk. I was at the top of a ladder. I played rhythmically and some old man told me the guitar was out of tune. I told him “I’m a drummer.” The patients were all spread out sitting in the park while Led Zeppelin blasted. Their heads all bobbing in sync. It was funny as they were all grumpy with each other but doing this fun thing involuntarily together.
