Lifelike Date
Was driving around and met someone on the road somehow. I ended up giving them a ride home. When I got there I was also with someone else, he was saying we were going to go inside. I told him "I already been here because I dropped the other guy off" We go inside and the guy I dropped off was there and he had kids, they were running around his apartment. He told us to sit down and asked "what're you guys up to?" we looked at each other and said, "oh we just wanted to see how you were" His girlfriend ended up coming in and she seemed uneasy that we were there so we left. We're in the car and my mystery friend who I can't completely see says he has a ride, a car and he was going to drive home that he can take me home and drive me back to my car so I can go to work. I told him that sounds nice but I'll take my car home instead. I end up home and go online on my phone. I begin to look up movies and realize the movie Mortal Kombat is in theaters. I think ok I'm going to watch that because in that moment my dream self has been working out a lot lately and also I connect with that movie in many ways IWL so I'm going to workout and go see the movie. I go for a run or bike ride and I get a call from a guy Im dating IWL. He tells me he wants to see me. I tell him to meet me at the movies. He says "ok, I was considering going this week myself" I get to the theatre and there are a lot of people waiting to see this film. I over hear someone say you get a free meal box with the movie depending on how soon you watch upon the release date. I believe I was there for the first day of release. I went to the front counter and asked the guy if this was true. He says, "Yeah, here let me go get you a box." He hands me a large rectangular box which has six chicken legs some mashed potatoes and gravy some fries and a whole box to the left of the big box of chicken wings filled to the top of it. I thought that's a lot of chicken. I think there were a couple of biscuits. I tell him, I'm vegan and I don't eat that and I heard it was going to be vegan. He says "oh yeah, the chicken is vegan" I was surprised, I was shocked, I couldn't believe it. He says, "leave it here" I didn't even want to let it go, I was so happy with what I had. He says, "here, leave it here and we're going to go to where you buy your tickets and we're going to get an approval for it" He shows them something, a receipt or something and gets an approval somehow. He tells me he set my time to 141 showing and I tell him, "I would've chose the 230 showing but that's ok" He says, "yes you have time it's only 130" even though last I checked it was 133 but I said ok. I tell him briefly, "I don't like to rush is mainly why." I walk back to the checkout and he says we're going to leave it back there until your ready to see the movie because you still have about 10 minutes. I tell him, "I also wanted that later ticket so I can view previews, walk the theatre and possibly play games" He says, "You can do that after, just go see the movie, come back out and do the same" I say, "ok but I was also meeting someone and I don't know how far he is" he says, "oh he's probably already there" I walk the theatre looking at posters of upcoming films for a bit. I lost track, check the time, also my phone to message my date and it's already 140. I quickly head back to him asking for my box. He says, "what box" I say, "the free food that I got" He says, "oh you didn't get any free food" I say, "yeah that's why we went to the front, I wanted to get some free food, I heard we do and you made it for me" He said, "oh I don't know you have to look for it" I looked for where he had placed it and seen it in the corner and said,"oh there it is" he said "oh yeah that's it?" I said, "yeah" he said, "ok" I opened it and the chicken legs were eaten, there were only a couple left but bones were still there. The wings were slightly eaten too.Everything else was ok. I looked at him and I said,"did you eat my chicken?" He said, "no" I look at the counter and there's these long pieces of fried stretched something along the counter, top to bottom. I thought, "what is that" he says, "oh it's a different kind of food, I can give you that to replace the chicken that you lost" I said, "no thank you, it's laying on the counter and covered in sauce and I just don't see that it looks tasty one and two it's sitting on the counter." he says, "well your decision, it's free" I said, "no thank you and I'm going to have to buy another ticket another day and get my own box and not listen to what you have to say about leaving it with you." I go into the theater and I'm sitting and get a text, my date says he's coming. I start watching the movie and Jade is in the movie and she's an asian girl and it's kind of a joke because the girl has a strip of her hair dyed green and she's talking to Katana and says, "look.. we gota get ready, there is something coming and we gota look good." Katana is already dressed up how she is from the game and says "what're you talking about" and asian Jade says "exactly you have no idea what I'm talking about." She does not look like she should be wearing that outfit she's wearing the green swimsuit but out of shape and looks like she doesn't even workout and she ends up stomping out of the room. It's as if she wasnt the real character and she was just in cosplay and it was just a joke. katana is there and she's confused, she doesn't understand the concept of cosplay. So the beginning of the movie was a joke but really weird. I'm sitting in the theater and I open these videos of myself on my phone and I'm in the nude and doing all these exercise poses kind of like Yoga/Thaichi which I do IWL sometimes in the nude but alone and I don't record myself but I was on my phone and viewing that I had recorded myself doing these things. The videos were edited really well to where my body had special effects attached. My arm would move and I would have three arms after it flowing behind. There were different artistic elements incorporated in terms of effects that were very realistic yet psychedelic, subtle and just very cool. There was a lady and she sat next to me, peered over at my phone and said,"Oh is that part of the movie?" I said, "no actually.. you know what, yeah it is" I just wanted to get her opinion on it. She said, "Wow, Katana looks so great in that video and even though she's nude it's artistic and beautiful and nice to see." I said, "oh that's not Katana, that's me" she said, "really?" I say, "yeah I take videos of myself, working out exercising, it's Yoga Tai chi" She says, "oh wow that's great, I thought that was part of the movie" I say, "Yeah I just said that just to see what you would say but no it's not" I say, "that's kind of why I'm here because I relate to this character and grew up with this game and I'm inspired by this character and by the movie and game in general but one thing I want to ask is why your sitting next to me when there's all this room in the theater?" she says, "oh yeah, sorry I'll go" I say, "I have a date coming and he may want to sit there" She says "ok I'll go" He ends up coming after and sits right next to me and he says,"I almost didn't think you were here, I was looking for you." I said, "oh yeah I don't know, that woman just sat next to me and I showed her this" I showed it to him and he said, "oh that's you" I said" yeah" he said, "so you seen it" I said, "seen what?" he said, "the videos I recorded of you, I edited them" I said, "oh ok they're nice, I didn't know where they came from. You caught me." He said,"Yeah I caught you, while we were in your house" I said "ok, so, it's really beautiful I like it, it's very modern but has this 80s feel to it like old 80s movies or music videos but also current." He said, "Yeah that's what I was trying to go for because kind of like this movie it's modern but it's also a really old movie and yea there you go"

This dream is animated around a tension between independence and connection, and it uses everyday scenes—driving, dropping someone off, going to a movie—to work that out. The act of giving a stranger a ride and then encountering him again in his domestic space suggests you are navigating how much of yourself you’re willing to invest in other people’s lives. The presence of the shadowy, partly unseen companion who keeps offering rides and solutions points to an inner figure (an anima/animus or a protective shadow) that both wants to help and sometimes oversteps. The apartment scene with children and an uneasy girlfriend, followed by your leaving, speaks to feeling like an outsider in another person’s private world and the cautious pull-back that follows—wanting closeness but not to displace anyone or lose your own boundaries. Food in the cinema—especially the scene where something promised as vegan chicken turns into a partially eaten offering—is a strong emotional metaphor for reward, expectation, and boundary violation. At first you’re delighted to discover integrity in something that seemed unlikely (the “chicken” being vegan), which may mirror waking surprises where things align with your values. Then later your prize is diminished by someone else’s appetite: the bones and half-eaten wings become proof that your reward was used up by someone else. Psychologically that can reflect everyday moments when someone else consumes the credit, affection, or time that you expected for yourself. Your firm decision to buy your own box another day and not rely on their assurances is an assertion of agency and a reestablishment of limits. The movie imagery, the cosplay/joke around Jade and Katana, and your own edited nude exercise videos form a cluster about identity, image, and authenticity. The awkward cosplay Jade—out of shape in a costume—mirrors an anxiety about being dressed up in roles that don’t fit. In contrast, the videos you watch of your own body, modified with artistic effects and extra limbs, suggest creative transformation: you are experimenting with whom you can become, visually and kinetically. That three-armed image reads as an amplification of competence and resourcefulness rather than a literal distortion; it’s your psyche’s way of rehearsing new strength and capability. The mixed reaction of strangers and your date—curiosity, approval, the blurring of private practice into public art—reflects an unresolved question about when and how you want to reveal the parts of you that are experimental, vulnerable, or erotic. Interpersonal dynamics thread through the dream: the mystery friend’s casual denials, the woman who moves seats, and the person you’re dating who later claims credit for editing your videos. These moments sketch a play between being seen and being co-opted. There’s tenderness in the approval you receive (someone admires the videos; your date appears and sits close), but also a mild alarm about ownership—who gets to shape and present you to others. From a Jungian angle, this is about integrating the creative, martial, and domestic archetypes—your warrior/hero energy (Mortal Kombat characters), your caregiver/domestic scene (kids/apartment), and your creative/artist energy (editing, effects)—so they are authentic expressions rather than costumes imposed by expectation. Taken together the dream feels like it is helping you sort recent waking-life changes: you’ve been working out, perhaps stepping into a bolder self, and you’re exploring new relationships and visibility. The clear invitations here are to keep asserting your boundaries around how others handle your “rewards” and your image; to choose when to share intimate, creative work and with whom; and to honor your own pacing rather than rushing just to meet someone else’s timeline. Practically, notice where in waking life you might be leaving your “box” with someone who won’t treat it as you would—and give yourself permission to reclaim it, or to invite only who you trust to hold it with you.
