Dogs through a War Zone

I was having to move with my dogs through an active war zone. I’m set in in this video-game like world in which I really need to move my dogs through certain locations to the next location while being aware of my safety throughout. Very bloody and gorey. At one point one gets stepped on and it just…. Squishes. Of course this is all of my fault and I’m meant to be watching the dogs, so I’m trying to chase them through this apocalyptic half-zombied minefield. Lots of emotional feelings surrounding my dogs and keeping them alive. At one point I’m going from home to home trying to find Toby and he is just hiding from me…
