Where in relation to Poland?

I was tellling my grandpa that my friends family lives in a hidden town in Russia and he was asking me where it was in relation to Poland, only idk the geography of Poland so I was trying to look it up in maps, globes, online but each place I looked and every photo I saw it quite literally looked like someone w scribbled over Russia and any possibility of my being able to find where Poland was. Then I finally found a globe or something w Poland except it was on top of Russia like a tumor…idk
