Love and The Hunger Games

I received these screenshots from my ex, and at first I was confused. I realized they were of texts he had sent a friend of his when we were first dating. After our first date, he texted his friend, “I really like this girl a lot.” Over time, the texts became, “I love this girl. I think I want to marry her.” Honestly, I was touched, but wasn’t sure what to say. Did he want to get back together? Did I even want that? I wasn’t sure. I was then driving home for the holidays. First, my dad was with me, showing me a new route to drive. We stopped at a place for slushi’s, and my friend LG was there. I got an orange one. Then, my dad turned into my sister, and I was driving her home. We stopped at a market, and I became really confused. I couldn’t remember if I locked the front door, but we were too far in our trip to go back. I thought we were at the market my mom usually visited, but on Life360 it said we were in Ohio. I was so confused, and it looked like a big storm was coming because the sky was getting super dark. The scene changed, and I was watching Katniss and Peeta go to the market. Katniss said the market’s manager had changed, so the market wasn’t as good. Barefoot, her and Peeta ran in to steal honey. At home, they went to the beach with their two kids. It honestly made me start crying to watch them all play in the ocean together. They were happy, and I wanted what they had. It was like my sister and I were watching this on our TV. Peeta was hit by a wave and almost died, and that part got to me. I was bawling. Then, he coughed up water and said something about overcoming masculinity and the need to feel powerful. The family returned home and then participated in this reenactment of the Lion King.
