An Avoidant’s Nightmare

I was on some sort of work trip to Philly with my co-worker, JC, and some others. We were climbing these enormous cranes over buildings, parking lots, and planes on a tour of the city. This seemed incredibly unsafe to me, and I was NOT having fun as someone who doesn’t love heights, but my co-workers thought it was fun. Once my work duties were completed for the day, I met up with some friends of mine (SJ) who happened to be in the city. I was wearing a short dark blue dress and heels as we went out to dinner. It was so pretty and nice out, and there were people having a good time everywhere. It felt like everyone finished their work for the day and was ready to have fun. As we walked to a restaurant, I saw JD (kind of an ex? not really? idk) with his friends, but I pretended I didn’t because I was so surprised. The restaurant looked nice on the outside. Once we stepped inside, we were in a school. Suddenly, everyone seemed to know something that I didn’t, and they kind of led me to this darkened classroom where JD was giving a presentation. I was told to sit at one of the circular tables in the room amongst others. A teacher sat at the front at his desk. JD basically gave a presentation professing his love to me and explaining that he understood I’m an avoidant who fears intimacy, and he was willing to wait for me. A part of me thought it was sweet, but I was also a bit mortified to have my issues presented to multiple people. I woke up in a cold sweat.
