Digging Holes
...I was at Mom's where the two trash piles used to be. They were as they were when I was a child, deep and full of trash. Water from the swamp came all the way up to the one on the right. I guess I had to make them look neat, so I was cleaning them up. I had a previous dream where I was powerful so there seem to be a layover to this one. I was taking dirt and trash out to return them how they were when they were first dug out... Problem was, the wall between the two was too narrow and started to collapse. I had been working all day and now I had to stop so I could figure out how to fix it. Lots of people were around now. I was finding toys and stuff from my childhood...

Your dream seems rich with symbolic imagery related to memory, emotional cleansing, and the challenge of balancing different parts of your past or inner experience. The setting of your mother’s place and the childhood trash piles suggests a connection to your roots and old memories—perhaps areas of your life or psyche that feel cluttered or neglected, but formative. The fact that these trash piles are deep and full may represent a deep well of past experiences or emotions that have accumulated over time. Water from the swamp rising up evokes a sense of emotions or unconscious material coming to the surface. Swamps often symbolize mysterious or murky emotional territory—sometimes fertile, sometimes overwhelming. Your effort to clean up and return the piles to their original state could symbolize a desire to tidy up or make sense of the past, possibly bringing order to feelings or memories that once felt overwhelming. The collapsing wall between the two trash piles suggests a fragile boundary or structure you’ve maintained between two parts of yourself or two different emotional areas. Its collapse may indicate a sense that those boundaries are strained or need reevaluation. You’ve been working hard at this, which might reflect personal effort to reconcile or manage these parts of your inner world. The arrival of many people and the discovery of childhood toys introduces themes of nostalgia, shared history, or connections with others through your personal past. Toys often symbolize innocence, joy, or simpler times, so finding them amid the work might suggest moments of rediscovery or healing within the process. Overall, the dream seems to explore the themes of emotional work, the interplay between order and overwhelm, and reconnecting with formative experiences in a way that invites both reflection and gentle repair. It might be encouraging you to acknowledge the complexity of your past while finding ways to nurture and restore balance.
