Making pizza with Grammy
I had a dream that I was helping my Grammy make a pizza and it became very clear to me that her mind was starting to go and instead of letting her anger and frustration bother me personally I remembered she once worked at a pizza shop and started calling her Joyce and talking about our shift together. She was pleased and immediately absorbed into the story line, much as it broke my heart, I was glad we could finish out our day together. Later on I was crying and when my nephew asked me what was wrong I gently told him what was happening with grammy, that she was my favorite person and this was really going to suck.

This dream carries a tender and emotionally rich symbolism centered around connection, memory, and acceptance. Helping your Grammy make pizza can represent nurturing and shared experiences, as food often symbolizes comfort, care, and domestic bonding. The act of cooking together might reflect your desire to hold onto moments of closeness and create a bridge between past and present. Your Grammy’s confusion in the dream seems to bring forward themes of change and vulnerability, while your response—engaging with her through a shared past memory—highlights adaptability, compassion, and the importance of emotional presence. Calling her by her name and reminiscing about working together suggests a gentle honoring of her identity and history, reinforcing how deep your bond is. The emotional release you feel later, including crying and opening up to your nephew, points to the dream’s broader theme of processing grief, fear, and love. It illustrates the interplay between sorrow and gratitude, acknowledging the heartache linked to change while valuing the moments you still share. Overall, the dream beautifully captures the complexity of loving someone through change, the significance of memory as a source of comfort, and the tender ways we cope with impending loss.
