Ride

11/8/2025|By jaquie

It started out with me waiting for a ride. I was in a store shopping for something to wear. Next to the store where two houses it looked like a street in downtown Royersford or Irvington with older homes close to the street. I went in one of the houses to get dressed. The keys were in the door and so I thought that was the way I should go in there was a front room like a porch and then a bedroom which was weird and there was a big bed that wasn’t made and lots of clothes on the bed and Jeannie my sister-in-law was there. I put on a black polkadot dress that seems to be very tight but they told me I looked good. My niece Dianne was there also . now I was ready and I went outside to wait for my ride. There were two cars that pulled up so I was sensing there was a lot of people going wherever we were going. I got in one car in the backseat. It was kind of tight, but then when we started to go, I realized my son Michael was driving. The landscape was magnificent many many mountains, beautiful lush mountains. We went up and down hills almost treacherous roads, but beautiful nonetheless. Then we went through villages that were impoverished and it was kind of scary because there were people just loitering all over And I felt uneasy. I don’t remember much after that and I woke up.

Thank you for sharing your dream. The imagery and emotions in your narrative offer rich symbolic layers to explore. Waiting for a ride while choosing something to wear may represent a period of preparation or transition in your life, a moment where you are getting ready for a journey or a change ahead. The act of entering an older house through an unlocked door suggests an invitation to explore familiar yet intimate parts of your inner world or family history. The presence of your sister-in-law and niece might symbolize connections with family and a sense of support or shared experience during this preparation phase. The black polka-dot dress, despite being tight, is affirmed by others, hinting at a balance between self-expression and external validation—a mixture of comfort and constraint in how you present yourself. Boarding a tight backseat shows a willingness to take a less prominent role in the upcoming journey, possibly trusting others to guide you. Your son driving adds a layer of personal significance; he could represent a source of direction, vitality, or the next generation taking the lead. The landscape of lush, mountainous terrain reflects the beauty and challenge of the path you’re on. Mountains often symbolize obstacles, growth, or higher perspectives. The treacherous roads suggest unpredictability and risk, yet the overall scene is filled with natural splendor, indicating that the journey, despite difficulty, contains valuable experiences or insights. Passing through impoverished villages and feeling uneasy around people loitering may evoke feelings of vulnerability or awareness of social or emotional hardship—perhaps aspects of life or yourself that feel unsettled, uncertain, or in need of compassion and understanding. Together, this dream may be reflecting your current life path as one of preparation, trust, and navigating complexity—balancing your personal identity, relationships, and the diverse environments you encounter emotionally or practically. It invites you to notice where you feel both supported and challenged, and how you move forward amidst beauty and uncertainty. If you find it resonates, you might consider what these symbols mean to you personally and how they relate to your waking life experiences and feelings.
