Lucid Dream! Short, but sweet.
I was making sure my house was locked up, checking all the doors and windows. As I walked through, it occurred to me that my house didn’t look the same as it usually does. I had a huge back porch and backyard. As I stepped outside onto the porch, I thought, “Oh. This is a dream.” As I thought that, a short, grumpy green elf appeared in front of me. I thought, “Yep. This is definitely a dream.” The elf disappeared. It was a beautiful and sunny day, but the fact that I was dreaming hadn’t completely sunk in. I decided to keep making sure all the doors were locked. As I approached the other end of the porch, I saw my mom gardening in the yard below. I thought, “Wait, this is stupid. I should do something weird.” I ran to the porch’s ledge and flung myself over, falling to the ground. However, as I fell, I thought about flying, and I ended up swerving upward and into the sky. My mom watched me, smiling. Flying didn’t feel as fun as I thought it would, so I went back down into the yard. My sister was there to greet me. My mom pointed out that a farmer’s market was going on at the back of our yard, so we started to walk over to see a lot of our favorite foods. There were fresh breads and cheeses and tomatoes. Now, I don’t like tomatoes, but, in real life, that day I had heard someone singing a song about tomatoes. I thought to myself, “My dreams make a lot of odd references to my real life.” I ended up dancing around the land because it was a beautiful field of ferns. I felt so free. I thought it would be nice to be dancing with someone (as I do ballet), so I envisioned someone dancing with me. I couldn’t see them, but I could feel someone’s hands lifting me by my waist and turning me like a ballerina. As we danced, the yard began to look more and more like my real house (and less beautiful). We ended the dance with a fish dive, and I lost control of the dream.
