Prom, Travel, and Birthdays
I was going to prom with a friend from high school, but this prom was a bit different. You needed different outfits to attend, including stylish athletic outfits, casual outfits, etc. to change during different parts of the dance. AJ and I were putting our outfits in her mom’s car, trying to decide what to wear. Most of our outfits followed a blue/purple theme and shimmered. On the way to the prom, I was wearing a yellow dress that looked a lot like Belle’s from Beauty and the Beast (the animated version). A boy approached me, who looked like a mix between BE and C. He started playing guitar and singing to me. I don’t remember what the song said, but it was really sweet and drew a crowd. He was asking me to the dance, and I accepted. During the dance, we ended up dancing together and being surrounded by the crowd as they watched because we were the best dancers. The floor had these stepping stones we performed on. The scene changed, and the two of us were together in the UK for Christmas. He looked more like BE now, and he seemed tense. He had his arm around me as we walked up the steps of this Christmas Village type of thing. It was really pretty. Snow was on the ground, and we were bundled up while walking through strings of lights. I got the feeling he didn’t want to be there. My dad was upset about something. The scene changed again, and it was my birthday. I had ordered myself a birthday cake custom-made from the grocery store. I was picking it up when I realized it was really ugly and grey, but the girl working then added a ladybug to it and some reds to make it pretty. Then she said the cake was $140, and I regretted all of my decisions. All I wanted was to celebrate my birthday because no one else was. Then, I couldn’t find my credit card, and I was really confused and frustrated. The scene changed once more and I was watching an episode of Seinfeld as if I was in the room with the characters. Some girls were mad at George before one of Jerry’s performances. I don’t really remember the context.
