Traveling

Was on my own and ended up on a plane going to seattle. As I was flying over I could see and was passing a trail that I had encountered in a past dream riding past buildings I had seen, light rails, trails and parks. The trip was so mesmorizing and peaceful. I end up looking for a restroom in this office building, finding one I begin to leave the restroom and end up behind the counter of some secretarys desk. Shes sitting there and asks, "can I help you?!" I say, "sure" and look down seeing she has stashes of candy seperated in glass containers. I take a sour peach ring and leave. After my trip I went back home and I was talking on the phone with my mother who was asking me where I was. Was considering in my mind this was strange because living alone I dont have any idea how she would have known I was gone. I ignored that thought and just began to tell her of my travels and how amazing it was, beautiful and so nice to get away. My mother begins to say how shed love to go and that she wants to plan a similar trip. Im now in a plane sitting next to my mother and brother we are doing the same exact thing I did and going to seattle. We head back home and all I could think of was going again and this time by myself considering the last trip with family wasnt as peaceful as my origional experience. I go to book a ticket and my mother is next to me at the airport. She says, "Where are you going?" I say, "oh back to Seattle, I just want to experience it one more time." I get a vision in my mind that my aunt was also with us the last time and tell my mother, "I dont want my last time to be accopanied by someone cause the last time my aunt was there and Id rather remember it like the first experience I had." My mother says, " She went with you? *sigh , ugh, I cant believe I have to do this for you and go with you on this trip" she goes over to another window to purchase her own tickets. I ignore her because Im in a hurry and purchase my tickets. I ask her if shes going where Im going and let her know she doesnt have to. She walks over to my window and says" you know I really dont want to go again" I say, "Then dont, I really was trying to go on my own again" She watches me purchase my ticket, it comes out to $200" I say, "thats cheaper then I tought considering its a plane ride" She says, "thats expensive" I leave her side and end up on my flight. After my flight I end up at a mall type place with theatres and stages and people walking around in cosplay, seems like a mall/convention center. Some of the people begin to follow me, then dream ends.

Your dream opens with a quiet, almost reverent flight over a landscape you recognize — a trail, light rail, parks and buildings you’ve seen before. That slow, mesmerizing journey feels like the heart of the dream: a solitary, restorative passage that allowed you to soak in beauty and calm. In Jungian terms this is a classic journey motif — an inner voyage in which the dreamer experiences a sense of wholeness and connectedness. The fact that the trail appeared in a past dream suggests you’re revisiting an important inner scene, something you found meaningful before and would like to preserve or return to. The scene in the office restroom that shifts you behind a secretary’s desk is rich with boundary imagery. Restrooms in dreams often mark private needs and relief, while a desk and a seated secretary evoke roles, permissions, and the administrative side of life. Finding candy in glass jars and taking a sour peach ring brings a childish, oral pleasure into the mix — a small, edible reward that is both sweet and sour. From a Freudian angle that nods to comfort and simple gratification; from a symbolic angle it can read as you allowing yourself a contained pleasure or reclaiming a small, personal delight in the middle of an otherwise structured environment. When your mother calls and then appears with your brother on the subsequent trip, the tone changes from solitude to family entanglement. The mother figure here acts like the Great Mother archetype: loving, curious, but also potentially intrusive, and her awareness of your absence hints at feeling observed or accountable. Your strong wish to repeat the original solo experience and your discomfort at the memory of your aunt being present point to a desire to protect a precious private experience from alteration by others. Buying the ticket despite your mother’s sigh and complaints about cost reads as an assertion of autonomy — you’re willing to invest in your own need for solitude, even when family expectations complicate that choice. The closing images of a mall/convention space populated by people in cosplay who begin to follow you bring in themes of persona and public attention. Cosplay literally presents masks and roles, suggesting the sense that others are performing identities or expecting you to play a part. Being followed can feel like the shadow side of the journey: anxiety about being seen, losing the quiet you found, or having your inner experience turned into spectacle. Taken together, these scenes sketch a tension between an inner longing for untroubled, solitary transcendence and the social, familial pressures that make that solitude hard to hold. Overall your dream seems to be working through how to protect and reclaim a particular kind of inner peace — a treasured, almost sacred experience — while negotiating family ties and public visibility. It invites you to notice what you most want to preserve (the calm, the trail, the private sweetness), and where you might need to set gentle boundaries or make deliberate choices to recreate that feeling for yourself. The dream doesn’t condemn family or public life; it simply highlights the value of a solitary journey and the real emotional work involved in keeping it intact. Consider it an encouragement to honor those small comforts and to be mindful about who you invite into experiences you’d prefer to keep private.
