A Book That, Unfortunately, Isn’t Real

This dream began with me waking up on a normal day (almost like a false waking, I even checked to be sure the water heater wasn’t leaking). My family was with me, and we were going to be going to some kind of community marathon (SC had participated or was going to be there). I remember confirming this with my sister, because I wasn’t sure where we were going. We were slightly mad at one another because she’d commented on me waking up in the middle of the night (which I did in real life) and walking around to check on the water heater. I had been loud and woken her up. The water heater seemed fine, but she commented on me saying hi to AT in a sleep-walk kind of state. I don’t completely understand this transition, but, on the way to the event, things began to change. It was a cloudy, rainy day, and I lost track of my family in the crowd. As I searched for them, I began to shrink and grow smaller. I had to run to escape people’s footsteps. I remember finding a set of small, grey crooked houses and desperately trying to get up the steps to reach the top house. Along the way up, I showed signs of having some kind of power to transform. A group of people led by a woman approached me on the steps. This is where the dream becomes very Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. I was told that I had inherited an ability (very similar to the Colossal Titan in AOT), and I had been chosen to defeat a villain alongside the group. The three crooked houses represented different groups with different abilities, but the villain had attack some of the houses. The first, they hadn’t heard from. The second had been attacked and defeated. The third was the last standing. They said my sister had gone into the first house. At this point, I was no longer entirely myself. It was more like I had transformed into a completely different character in this story. I was way more edgy and dark, very quiet. I was spending a lot of time with a guy from the third house who was similar to me, pretty dark and edgy. He kind of resembled Hort from The School For Good and Evil after a little bit of an upgrade. Him, and he had a friend our age we would talk to. The rest of the kids staying at the house were younger than us, and everyone had a different ability. I was struggling with everything that had happened. I think my parents had died due to the villain (who I was told was a boy who used to live in the third house but went rogue with his powers and used them for evil). I was really worried about my sister, and I didn’t know how to use my powers properly. Hort (I’ll call him that, but I don’t remember his name in this dream) helped me to train and walked me through things. We ended up spending a lot of time together and becoming really close. We had an intimate scene where he said he wanted to show me some thing. He stood very close to me, and I had to look up to see into his eyes (he was tall). He showed me an envelope he kept with three keys in it. He explained that two of the keys were to his childhood home that he hoped to return to after the villain was defeated. The other key was to one of the nearby houses, because he had a friend who used to live in one that he wanted to find. I thanked him for being personal with me and telling me more about his life. We took a walk outside the house, which was a little risky, but I think he knew the fresh air and the outside world would do me some good. We began to approach the second house, which appeared seemingly deserted. Hort commented that they had no idea what happened to it, but that it couldn’t be good. I was determined to go inside and check for my sister, which Hort kept telling me not to do. He said there was a good chance the villain was involved because he was killing children with powers to stop the inheritances and be the only one with powers. I didn’t listen (my character was slightly suicidal after losing her entire family), and went into the house. Thats where I met the villain, who was a boy my age. A SUPER attractive boy, jawline and all, with this manipulative edge. At this point in the dream, I looked up from my book. I was reading all of this as a story, and I was SO EXCITED about finding the book. The cover showed three characters, the girl I had been, Hort, and Hort’s friend in watercolor paints with muted tones and smudges as if rain was going down the cover. I was also excited because I knew two more books were going to be in the series, and I loved the epic goth romance it was developing. So, I woke up super pissed that this book isn’t real 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
