Play Auditions

I was driving out four miles to the middle of nowhere in my home state to audition for a play (don’t ask me why). Other people I knew were going as well, including LH. We stopped at this store along the way. It was a vintage toy store, but the structure of the building was set-up so that it was more vertical than horizontal. It had many stairs, little rooms, and doors. I told LH that I thought I’d been there before. The drive continued until I arrived at the audition sight. It was a small theater connected to an old hotel in the middle of country. It was pretty, very green and hilly. There were hydrangea bushes and apply trees. The buildings were old and white. I checked into the hotel because I had free tickets for it from my sister and intended to stay overnight. They told me I had to stay over two nights. I didn’t really mind because I figured I’d explore the nature. No one else was staying overnight. LH hinted that he was dating someone else. I got mad, and he was gone from the dream. My dad and my sister showed up as I waiting to audition. My dad came face to face with a praying mantis. My sister ended up auditioning too. I got a callback, I was told to audition for an angry child who would yell at her toys to “speak the truth!” My grandma called after the audition and told me she wasn’t feeling well, but I reminded her that I was not close to home.
