Cleaning my crocs with spit

I dreamt that I was sitting on the stoop in front of the building in lived in as a child when an unknown woman walked up to me and said my feet stink. I said “my feet stink?” I slipped off my green crocs and she picked up my shoe and spit in them and began to clean them with her hands. I said asked “ why would you spit on my shoes?” And she said that’s how you clean them and I was thinking now I need to get wipes to clean my shoes and that all I remember.
